Terms of Use & Sale

These are the terms you agree to when you use this site, buy a study resource, book a flight review, or commission aerial work. They're written in plain English on purpose — terms nobody reads protect nobody.

1. Who you're dealing with

Drone's View Canada is a sole proprietorship operated by Chris Jones from Guelph, Ontario. Chris holds a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate with a flight reviewer rating. You can reach us at dronesviewcanada@gmail.com, and that's the address to use for anything in these terms — refunds, questions, complaints.

We are an independent business. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Transport Canada, NAV CANADA, or any other regulatory body.

2. What this site is — and what it isn't

Everything published here and in our downloadable products is educational material. It is written carefully, checked against the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Transport Canada guidance, and dated so you can see how current it is. It is still only educational material.

Nothing on this site or in our products guarantees that you will pass any Transport Canada examination or flight review. Our practice questions are original material written to reflect published knowledge areas; they are not the exam, and a good score here is not a prediction.

3. Digital products

Our study guides, practice exams, checklists and kits are sold as digital downloads through Payhip, which handles payment and delivery.

What you may do: use them for your own study and your own flight operations, and print them for that purpose. Our products are licensed for personal and single-operator use.

What you may not do: resell them, redistribute them, upload them anywhere public, or use them as course material for training other people, without written permission from us. The one exception is the free sampler and the free cheat sheet, which you're welcome to share unmodified.

Refunds. Digital downloads can't be returned in the usual sense, so we do it on trust: if a resource isn't what you expected, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you. We'd rather do that than have you feel short-changed. You don't need to justify yourself.

Updates. When regulations change we revise our products and note a new "last verified" date. We'll make a reasonable effort to get updated files to recent buyers, but we don't promise lifetime updates on any product unless the product page says so.

4. Flight reviews

A flight review is an in-person practical assessment required for the Advanced RPAS pilot certificate. Some things worth being explicit about:

• You must already hold a passing grade on the Transport Canada Small Advanced Operations exam before booking. If you book without one, we'll reschedule you rather than run the review.
• You fly your own aircraft. It must be registered with Transport Canada if it weighs 250 g or more, and you must be able to produce the documentation. You remain pilot-in-command throughout, and you are responsible for the safe and legal operation of your aircraft — before, during, and after the review.
• The outcome is determined by the Transport Canada standard, not by us and not by what you paid. Booking a review buys you an assessment, not a result. If it's clear during the briefing that you're not ready, we'll tell you and reschedule rather than take your money for a review you're going to fail.
• Weather and safety. Either of us can postpone if conditions make the flight unsafe or non-compliant. Rescheduling for weather costs you nothing.
• Cancellation. Give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule and there's no charge. Less than that, or a no-show, and we may charge for the time set aside.

5. Aerial services

Commercial photography, video and inspection work is quoted individually and governed by the quote or written agreement for that job, which takes precedence over this section if the two disagree. Flights are conducted under the Canadian Aviation Regulations, and we may decline or stop any operation we judge unsafe, non-compliant, or outside our authorizations — including on the day, on site. Where a flight requires airspace authorization, delivery timelines depend on that authorization being granted.

6. Email

If you give us your email address, we'll use it to send you what you asked for and occasional related material. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. We don't sell or rent your address to anyone.

7. Limitation of liability

We take real care with what we publish. But you use this site, our products, and anything you learn from us at your own risk, and we provide all of it without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Drone's View Canada and Chris Jones are not liable for any loss or damage — including regulatory penalties, a failed exam or flight review, damage to aircraft or property, lost revenue, or any indirect or consequential loss — arising from your use of this site, our products, or our services. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service in question.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot be contracted out of.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your purchase or booking, and the "last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed.
